Watch: PM Modi's Unseen Moments With World Leaders In Japan

A behind-the-scenes wrap of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G-7 meet released on Sunday captured several key moments from the summit, especially his interaction with other world leaders. The video shows him interacting with massive crowds of Indians in Hiroshima who had gathered at a hotel to meet him. Members of the Indian community had said they were "extremely excited" to have the Prime Minister among them. PM Modi was also seen interacting individually with world leaders such as US President Joe Biden, Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Congress Leader's "Tea-Pakora" Lesson For AAP Over Delhi Postings Row

Congress leader and former Union minister Ajay Maken on Sunday said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should follow the "Sheila Dikshit model" of engaging with officers respectfully, holding dialogues with them rather than "mistreating" them, and persuading them to work for the city's advancement. He also said Mr Kejriwal's past actions of summoning officers and allegedly using harsh words against them are only contributing to the City's distress. Mr Maken's advice came as the Delhi government is engaged in a battle with the Centre over the control of the city's bureaucracy. Sharing his own experiences as a minister in the Sheila Dikshit government in Delhi during the BJP-led NDA regime at the centre in early 2000s, Mr Maken said they worked with the bureaucracy to get things done in Delhi's interest. "I hope the current Chief Minister takes note of this journey and learns from it. Engage with officers respectfully, hold dialogues...

UK PM Rishi Sunak Faces Criticism For Misusing Alt Text Feature On Twitter

Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is being criticised online for misusing alt text on Twitter.  On Wednesday, Mr Sunak posted a four-picture photo grid showing cabinet members having a meeting. When the images are clicked, each expands to reveal a list of things the government says it has done. “We are working day-in and day-out to grow the economy,” Mr Sunak wrote in the caption of the post. The alt text field, which is supposed to describe what's in the images for blind users, simply read: “We're growing the economy”.  Take a look at the post below:  We are working day-in and day-out to grow the economy. pic.twitter.com/wYgxplNEZm — Rishi Sunak (@RishiSunak) May 17, 2023 For those unaware, alt text is a way in which one can make images more accessible to those who are blind or visually impaired. "We Strongly Oppose...": Quad Countries' Thinly Veiled Swipe At China

The leaders of the Quad group -- Australia, India, Japan and the United States -- delivered a thinly veiled swipe at Beijing's behaviour Saturday at a summit in Hiroshima. US President Joe Biden and his three partners in the group did not mention China by name but the communist superpower was clearly the target of language in a joint statement calling for "peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific maritime domain". "We strongly oppose destabilizing or unilateral actions that seek to change the status quo by force or coercion," the statement said, using diplomatic language that appeared to refer to China's economic tactics to gain leverage over poorer countries and also its military expansion in the Pacific. "We express serious concern at the militarization of disputed features, the dangerous use of coastguard and maritime militia vessels, and efforts to disrupt other countries' offshore resource exploitation activities," the statement added, c...

"Feel Vindicated": Ex-Chief Economic Advisor On Clean Chit To Adani Group

Former Chief Economic Advisor Krishnamurthy Subramanian on Friday said the Supreme Court-appointed panel's clean chit to the Adani group had vindicated his stance that there had been no fraud or manipulation in the case and the post-2021 stock price surge may be attributed to enhanced infrastructure investment in the wake of India's post-Covid budget. "The stock price of Adani increased post-2021, primarily from March 2021 onwards. That was the time when the post-Covid budget was presented and the Indian economy changed and started to invest far more in infrastructure. I interpreted Adani to be a beneficiary as an infrastructure enterprise," said Mr Subramanian. "I feel vindicated by the report that has been submitted to the Supreme Court, where the panel of experts clearly says that they cannot find any evidence to suggest that there was any fraud involved... By looking at the evidence, the panel did not find any convincing evidence of fraud or manipulation,...
